HYPNOSIS IS A STATE OF HEIGHTENED AWARENESS. While in hypnosis you will be very alert, fully awake and deeply relaxed, and not be unconscious. You need not worry the therapist can somehow control or harm you, as you can never be manipulated to do anything that goes against your inner moral fiber. As a matter of fact, you will hear everything we say and you will remember it.
To be in hypnosis is actually a wonderful feeling. Our brain with all its stress and worries is calmed down and a blessed feeling of calmness and peace emerges from within. You will be surprised at how gentle and soft the hypnotic experience will be.

As a therapists Pieter will help you reach deeper recesses of your mind and help you deal with problems your own conscious mind has difficulty dealing with. Sometimes one just lacks the will or energy to deal with certain issues or we simply feel helpless. Hypnosis is a very powerful tool whereby we can help you greatly strengthen your resolves and cope with deep inner issues that you previously thought were impossible to handle.

Pieter makes extensive use of Therapeutic Imagery. Therapeutic Imagery is a healing modality where we get in touch with the emotions and interpretations we have associated with certain experiences in our lives. These emotions and interpretations are lodged in the sub-conscious mind and cause us to project unhappiness, frustration, anger and what not upon our already distorted view of reality. Therapeutic imagery works with archetypal images and symbols, through journeys (like guided meditations), and helps the client to reframe or release these distortions. The therapist only sets up a structure of a journey, and within this structure the client finds his or her own solution, with the understanding that the mind has the innate capacity to heal itself. This can be done with or without hypnosis, but in my experience hypnosis with Therapeutic Imagery is much more effective..

Frequently asked questions


CAN I BE HYPNOTIZED?
Yes, everybody has the ability to be hypnotized. But we cannot hypnotize anybody against their will. If you’re willing and open-minded we can work together successfully. As a therapist I just help you overcome obstacles and help you see beyond your current limited belief systems. Sometimes we don’t see clearly and need some help.

WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE TO BE HYPNOTIZED? Hypnosis provides a sense of profound physical and mental relaxation that is both refreshing and revitalizing.  It is also good for your overal sense of (physical and mental) wellbeing.

WILL I GO TO SLEEP? No. When in hypnosis, you hear everything that is said. You are, in fact, hyper conscious. You merely change your brain frequency to either alpha or tetha.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T COME OUT OF HYPNOSIS? That is impossible. All trances end, whether formally ended by the hypnotherapist or ended naturally by you. During the session you always remain in control. It’s like reading a book and putting it down. You shift focus from the outside to the inside.

IN HYPNOSIS, WILL I DO ANYTHING I DON’T WANT TO DO OR SAY ANYTHING I DON’T WANT TO SAY?
No, that only happens in the movies. What we do is therapy! You are not loosing awareness in any way or shape, you merely turn your attention from the outside to the inside. As a hypnotherapist, I am seriously committed to helping you achieve your therapeutic goals. You cannot and will not ever be compelled to do or say anything under hypnosis that is in conflict with your personal ethical standards and/or desires.
